Sandy Abasman!

My path into software started long before I wrote my first line of code. Growing up, I was drawn to how things worked under the hood, taking systems apart to understand how technology could reshape everyday life. That curiosity eventually became a passion for building products that solve real problems through thoughtful engineering.

It led me to 42 Abu Dhabi, one of the most rigorous peer-to-peer software engineering programs in the world, where I spent over a year sharpening my problem-solving instincts, learning how to learn under pressure, and building a foundation in algorithms, systems thinking, and collaborative development. From there I completed the HNG Internship frontend track and a practical bootcamp with Dev and Design, both of which sharpened my ability to translate design intent into performant, accessible interfaces.

Somewhere along the way I stopped seeing my work as just building screens. I saw it as the layer where engineering and human behaviour meet, where small decisions decide whether a product feels effortless or gets abandoned. That realisation set my direction.

Since then I have worked at the intersection of frontend development, fullstack engineering, and product thinking, helping teams ship digital experiences that are fast, accessible, and built to scale. Across freelance engagements, startup collaborations, and personal projects, I have built production web applications from the ground up, architected reusable component libraries for long-term maintainability, integrated complex third-party services and authentication flows, and worked to bridge the gap between design, engineering, and business outcomes.
